The appearance of bulging veins is what prompts most patients to seek varicose vein treatment or removal. For some patients their symptom of chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) motivates them to make an appointment. Others are completely asymptomatic, and the primary incentive is cosmetic improvement.
Duplex ultrasound is an essential diagnostic test in any varicose vein treatment plan. The test is necessary prior to any treatment because it pinpoints where the damaged valves are in the veins.
There are several new, FDA approved techniques we use for treating varicose veins and cosmetic spider veins, leg ulcers and vascular conditions. Because not every patient or vein is the same, treatment varies based on your age, symptoms and severity, and how well you tolerate medications and procedures. Procedures are minimally invasive, usually take a little more than an hour and they are performed under local anesthesia (lidocaine) in our office.
Our custom approach ensures the treatment outcome you can expect.
